What is Ready Set Dance?

Ready, Set, Dance is an award-winning preschool program, offered here at Academy of Dance Taranaki. It’s designed for kids aged 2 to 5 years old, and it’s more than just a dance class. It’s a high-energy mix of jazz, hip hop, singing, and music exploration that keeps kids moving, learning, and laughing.

Ready Set Dance

For 2 to 5 year olds, Ready Set Dance is where your child is introduced to a dynamic blend of Jazz, Hip Hop, Singing, and Music. They’ll develop muscle strength, motor skills, and coordination, all while igniting creativity and building confidence. With engaging activities like playing instruments and singing on the microphone, children also develop their musical ear and self-expression.

Ready Set Ballet

For 2-5 year olds, Ready Set Ballet is led by our delightful instructors, your young dancer will explore the fundamentals of ballet while engaging with specially curated original music that captures the essence of classical ballet. Our lessons focus on developing coordination, body awareness, strength, and flexibility through both visual and auditory instruction. With imaginative mime activities, themed dances, and playful props, children express creativity, enhance tactile awareness, and develop fine motor coordination.

Ready Set Acro

For 3 to 6 years olds, Ready Set Acro is a collaborative program developed in partnership with Industry Leader Acrobatic Arts, specifically tailored for preschoolers. Our program prioritises safe progressions and effective techniques to nurture both physical and social skills crucial for healthy early childhood development. With original music featuring lyric cues, children engage in three key components: Stretch, Strength, and Skills. Through enhancing flexibility, promoting physical strength, and fostering confidence in a supportive environment, preschoolers embark on a journey of discovery and growth in the world of AcroDance.

Ready Set Move

For 1 to 3 year olds, this is your child’s early introduction to the world of dance, discovering the joy of creative movement, music and dance education. We follow three engaging sections, ENGAGE, EXPLORE, and EXPRESS to help your child embark on a playful journey of discovery. From exploring nursery rhymes and parachute fun, to navigating obstacle courses and sensory activities, toddlers achieve coordination milestones and develop investigation skills. In the EXPRESS section, they unleash their creativity through free creative dance movement with instruments, feathers, and bubbles.
