
Sarah Hawkridge is a highly experienced and passionate dance educator with a strong background in both Tap and Modern Jazz dance. She began dancing at the age of three and has been teaching since 2005, bringing nearly two decades of experience working with students of all ages.
Sarah holds Advanced Associate qualifications in both Modern and Tap with the Association of International Dance Teachers (A.I.D.T.), reflecting her high level of technical training and teaching expertise. Alongside her dance qualifications, she also holds certifications in Personal Fitness Training and Exercise Specialisation, giving her a strong understanding of strength, conditioning, and safe movement for dancers.
Throughout her career, Sarah has prepared students for A.I.D.T. examinations, competitions, and performances, achieving outstanding results including numerous Honours and Distinction-level exam results, as well as competition awards for choreography and performance. Her students have consistently performed at a high level across festivals and examinations.
Tap is Sarah’s specialty and passion. She is dedicated to developing strong rhythm, musicality, and technique in her students while creating engaging and supportive classes. Her teaching style is structured yet encouraging, helping dancers build confidence, discipline, and a genuine enjoyment of dance.
In addition to her teaching, Sarah has experience coordinating productions, mentoring students, and contributing to the wider studio community through both teaching and administrative support.
Sarah is excited to be part of the Academy of Dance Taranaki team and looks forward to continuing to grow and develop our dancers in Tap and beyond.
