Jessica Davies

Teacher Jazz/Ballet/Musical Theatre/Acro and Preschool Programs

Dance Educator | Choreographer | Early & Middle Years Specialist

Jessica Davies is a highly experienced and passionate dance educator with over 20 years of teaching experience, specialising in early childhood and primary-aged dancers, while also working confidently across jazz, ballet, contemporary, and musical theatre.

Jessica discovered her love of dance at the age of seven, training in a vibrant studio environment that encouraged performance, creativity, and technical excellence. With a strong personal drive for exams and disciplined training, she went on to study jazz and ballet extensively before pursuing further training in performing arts. Her early exposure to both performance and structured technique has strongly shaped her teaching philosophy.

She began assistant teaching at just sixteen years old, where she quickly found a deep passion for choreography, mentoring young dancers, and helping students build confidence both in and out of the studio. Since then, Jessica has worked with dancers of all ages and abilities, guiding them through foundational technique, performance skills, and personal growth.

Jessica has a long-standing connection with the Academy of Dance, having taught during the early years of AOD Hong Kong, an experience that further developed her adaptability, creativity, and inclusive teaching approach. Her international experience has given her a strong understanding of how to support diverse learners while maintaining high standards of technique and care.

Her greatest strength lies in early and middle childhood dance education, where she excels at creating structured, nurturing environments that balance fun, discipline, and progress. Jessica is known for her calm, encouraging presence and her ability to make every child feel seen, supported, and capable. She places a strong emphasis on correct foundations, musicality, confidence, and joy in movement.

Jessica believes dance should be a positive, empowering experience for every child. Her classes are thoughtfully planned, developmentally appropriate, and infused with warmth, creativity, and purpose. She is deeply committed to helping students grow not only as dancers, but as confident, resilient young people.

Jessica is thrilled to be part of the Academy of Dance Taranaki teaching team and looks forward to inspiring the next generation of dancers through excellence, care, and a genuine love of dance.
